With over 30 years of social work experience and specialized training in Virtual Reality (VR) Exposure Therapy, SERVE California is dedicated to helping you find solutions to your problems. We believe that every Californian deserves top-quality emotional healthcare.
We accept most insurance plans, including HMO Medi-Cal. If we aren't partnered with your plan, we'll handle the approval paperwork.
After an initial phone consultation to understand your concerns, you'll receive an in-office or telehealth video appointment within 48 hours. We encourage in-office visits, where we provide free unlimited refreshments to ensure your comfort.
Your first 60-minute visit will include a detailed discussion of your concerns, followed by the development of a personalized treatment plan. For your second session, you'll begin VR Exposure Therapy, engaging in fun, game-like activities that will make therapy more enjoyable and effective. This immersive 3D experience helps build confidence, manage symptoms, and motivates continued progress.
VR Exposure Therapy is ideal for managing anxiety, depression, low motivation, bullying, stress, relationship issues, family conflicts, work-related troubles, phobias, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and other emotional health challenges.

When you call us at (855)737-8122, please be ready with your health insurance information. Also be prepared to answer some personal questions about your concern. It's okay if you feel shy during this call -- everyone does.
Before the end of your call, you will be given an appointment to meet face-to-face with your assigned California Licensed Therapist. Your office visit will be scheduled within 48 hours of the day you called. This office visit will take 60 minutes. Before the end of this talk session, your next visit will be scheduled, and during that visit is when the "magic" begins.
Everything will be explained each step of the way. We want you to feel comfortable. We want you to ask questions -- ask as many questions as possible -- because there's no need to rush.
During your face-to-face session, you'll collaborate with your therapist, and the two of you will create a treatment plan. You'll leave the session feeling renewed and ready to tackle your concerns. At your next appointment, you'll be introduced to Virtual Reality. You don't need to bring anything special --- just bring your desire to make a change. You are welcome to bring a loved one or friend for support.
Since TheraVR is specialized, please allow 90 minutes for this appointment. However, if the session feels too long for you, just let your therapist know, and he or she will adjust your treatment plan.
Children 5-11 years old
Teens 12 - 18 Years old
Our office is kept comfortable and inviting. The environment is temperature controlled and decorated with art & furnishings that is modern and tasteful. We also serve a variety of snacks to include healthy options. Children are encouraged to leave a piece of art behind, which will be placed on our "Wall of Frame". Children never want to leave and are always excited for their next appointment.
We address various issues such as social anxiety, depression, anger issues, shyness, bullying, phobias, body image concerns, aggression, and rebellious behaviors.
Children will use VR under adult supervision to ensure they are engaging with the technology safely and appropriately. It's recommended to limit VR sessions to short durations, typically 15-20 minutes, followed by a break. In VR therapy, children will experience real-world scenarios tailored to their emotional needs guided by a licensed professional.
Here is an example of a child's experience when using VR Exposure Therapy to address bullying:
Before the appointment, the VR environment will be set up. The headset creates an immersive space where kids can practice coping strategies. The child will play as an avatar named "Anthony," while the therapist will be "Ms. Brown." In the virtual school lunchroom, Anthony will face a bully. Ms. Brown will guide Anthony, offering real-time advice on handling the situation. The therapist will suggest responses, encourage assertiveness, and provide support. This interactive experience helps Anthony to safely practice responding to bullying, while building confidence and resilience for real-life situations.
